MiawDoku online

MiawDoku fills a classic 9x9 with nine cat faces. Each row, column, and 3x3 box gets every cat once. Use the tables under the player when a cell stalls.

How to play MiawDoku

MiawDoku belongs to the same family as Meowdoku: place one figure in every marked area - a color block on the region boards, a box on the sudoku-style ones - with no two figures sharing a row or a column. Several of these boards also forbid touching, even diagonally. Those constraints are what make the grid solvable by deduction alone: you never have to guess, only to find the area that is already decided.

1

Start with the tightest area

Ignore the crowded middle of the grid. Find the marked area with the fewest usable squares left and work outwards from there - an area down to two candidates usually settles the line it sits in as well.

2

Bank the forced placements

An area with one open square, or a row with one open square, is a free placement. Take every one of them before you start reasoning, because each figure you bank removes a whole line of candidates.

3

Mark before you place

Most of these boards let you cross squares out. A wrong mark costs you nothing; a wrong placement usually costs a heart or a life. When you are not certain, mark the square and keep going.

4

Check the control card

Each portal shows its own control scheme under the board - usually tap to cross out and double-tap to place. Read it once before your first move and you will not lose a heart to a mis-tap.
